The African National Congress (ANC) is saddened by the death of Heidi Holland, a renowned journalist who freelanced for the Star newspaper and an author.
Heidis body was discovered in her Melville resident on Saturday, the 11thof August 2012. She was 64 years old.
Heidi wrote several books including the ANC book, titled: The struggle: A history of the African National Congress. She also wrote a book about the life and career of the President of Zimbabwe, President Robert Mugabe, titled: Dinner with Mugabe.
Heidi worked and contributed to a number of local and international publications.
Her death has indeed robbed this country of a philanthropist of note. Certainly, her death will leave a void in the journalism vocation and in the creative writing space in general.
The ANC sends its condolences to the Holland family, friends and the media fraternity.
Heidi is survived by her two sons, Jonah and Nick, daughter-in-law Nicky, her grandson Hugo, her mother and her siblings.
May her soul rest in peace
