ANC Congratulates Kanana Park Residents

10 August 2012

The African National Congress (ANC) is delighted with the handover of nearly 200 new houses, by President Jacob Zuma, to the residents of Kanana Park in Johannesburg, today, Friday, 10 August 2012.

This follows the visit by President Jacob Zuma and other government officials around the area in 2010, where he found the residents living in deprived and squalor conditions.

The ANC led government, as promised in its elections manifesto, have delivered to the expectations of the people of Kanana Park by responding speedily to their needs and concerns.

The ANC is thrilled with the quick success of this project as it allows the Kanana Park residents better and safer living conditions, which ultimately restore their dignity as people.

We extend our sincere applauds to the province and the City of Johannesburg for this immense success. We equally congratulate the people of Kanana, for their achievement.

The ANC is confident that the assurance by the Kanana Park housing project-in building 3101 houses, parks, two sports grounds, two primary schools and a high school, a clinic, and commercial and light industrial sites to be incorporated in the settlements Thulamntwana, Sweetwaters, Doornkuil and Bhekaphambili - will be fulfilled with swiftly.
