TAKE A STAND AGAINST THE COMMON ENEMY!
Join the forces of democracy

Gregory Rockman has become a household name in the country. A lieutenant in the South African Police, he decided to speak out against the brutal assault on a group of peaceful protestors by white riot policemen in Cape Town. He was not the first. Neither should he be the last. The choice that he had to make is one that faces all black soldiers and police:

You have been ordered by your masters to sjambok innocent women and children.
You have been instructed to shoot your own people.
You have been paid to betray and torture patriots.

The time has come for you to choose: are you on the side of the people or on the side of the oppressor?

BROTHER SOLDIER, BROTHER POLICEMAN: why go on serving the racists?

• They have put you in uniform because they are few and we are many.
• They treat you as hotnots, coolies, kaffirtjies.
• You are paid low wages, refused promotion by the white officers, subjected to white baaskap.
• You are used as cannon fodder, `disposables` in the front columns of the apartheid war machine.

Abandon the racists and their puppets. Let them face the power of the people alone.

BROTHER SODIER, BROTHER POLICEMAN:

You may say that you have joined the forces of repression because you were jobless. But what job is this whose purpose is to defend the very system that made you and millions of others jobless!

Join the people in the struggle for a future without joblessness, white baaskap, oppression and injustice.

The people are prepared to accept you as a brother patriot, a fellow freedom fighter.

Already, many other soldiers and policemen have taken a bold stand against the common enemy: Gregory Rockman, patriotic soliders in Bophuthatswana, hundreds of municipal police...

JOIN THESE BRAVE PATRIOTS. TAKE A STEP FORWARD:

• disobey the orders to attack, to betray and to torture your own people;
• expose and speak out against the atrocities committed by the police and army;
• form small units with your friends and act against the sadistic commanders;
• build a patriotic movement in the army and the police force;
• give the people information about the enemy`s plans, supply the democratic fighters with arms and skills of war;
• sabotage the enemy`s equipment, transport and communications;
• encourage your colleagues to join the ranks of the People`s Army, Umkhonto we Sizwe.

Dear brother:

Apartheid is crumbling. The democratic forces are on the brink of a democratic breakthrough. Choose now before it is too late!
